Pharmacist – Fixed‑Term (up to 4 years) in Falkland Islands

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Pharmacist to join the sole pharmacy service in the Falkland Islands on a fixed‑term contract of up to four years. You will be based at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Stanley and will support primary, secondary and community health services across the islands.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the day‑to‑day operation of the pharmacy department, overseeing three Pharmacy Technicians and a Pharmacy Assistant.
• Perform core dispensary tasks when required and maintain the hospital drug formulary.
• Collaborate with clinical colleagues to ensure evidence‑based, cost‑effective prescribing and monitor compliance with the formulary.
• Lead the smoking cessation clinic and other primary health clinics according to community needs.

Required profile

• Master of Pharmacy degree (or equivalent).
• Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or an equivalent professional body.
• Minimum three years post‑registration experience working in a multi‑disciplinary team.
• Experience in management and staff training.
• Ability to adapt to remote, close‑knit community living.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract up to 4 years with a salary of £43,141‑£49,590 per annum (rising to £53,055).
• Eligibility for a 25% gratuity payable on successful contract completion.
