Operations Manager – Falkland Islands

About the role

Mitie is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the delivery of core contract services across the Falkland Islands. This senior leadership position oversees a diverse portfolio of technical, engineering and operational services in a remote, strategically important environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide integrated leadership across Hard FM, plant & transport, water treatment, energy and sustainability services, ensuring safe and compliant delivery.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, translate contractual requirements into service plans, and maintain robust contingency and resilience strategies.
• Oversee maintenance of buildings, infrastructure, utilities and fleet, managing performance against KPIs and contractual standards.
• Drive energy efficiency, environmental performance and continuous improvement in safety, quality and service delivery.

Required profile

• Significant management experience in Hard FM, engineering operations, utilities or similar technical environments.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in remote or geographically dispersed locations.
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance, asset management and performance governance.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to meet security, medical and site‑access requirements.

Required skills

• Experience with CAFM and asset/work management systems.
• Knowledge of NEC4/DEFCON contractual frameworks.
• Technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, water treatment, fleet and energy management.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and ISO 55001 principles.
